SPELLING MISTAKES!!!
The 1st of July was the start of my extensive promotion for The Hell Of Osirak. Over the next two months I've booked ads on a number of e-book sites. I kicked off with an ad on Bargain Booksy. My book cover looked awesome and was next to the famous thriller writer Greg Iles cover. Sales will be soaring I thought optimistically! Then I looked at my book description, there were 3 errors in the copy. The word Mossad was spelt without the D. I couldn't believe it!
I emailed Bargain Booksy and they were most apologetic, and offered to run my book again free of charge. I'll take them up on that offer next month. However, it's not a good look, if the book description copy isn't spot on and error free would you buy that book?
How many books I would have sold if the copy was correct? All I can think at this point, is thank goodness I haven’t given up my day job!!!

IS FACEBOOK PAST ITS SELLBY DATE FOR AUTHORS?
I read a very interesting post on Linkedin, asking this very question.
An author had been posting on FB for two years, and had very little response from his posts on a number of author and readers sites.
I never had a FB page before I started writing, and I have friends that follow me, and that’s cool. However, I have posted on a number of the above sites, and the result was nada, nothing. Like most of my fellow authors I’m in full time employment, and pressed for time, I’ve decided to post my blog on my website, Amazon.com, Good Reads and Google +. Whether this will be a mistake time will tell, but I do agree with this author that FB has lost its mojo for authors. There’s no such thing as a free lunch, and the only alternative is to pay for advertising.
What do others think? I’d love to hear your views.

THERE IS NO ELEVATOR TO SUCCESS YOU HAVE TO TAKE THE STAIRS!
Tomorrow is the launch day of my advertising campaign, and
I’ve booked an ad on The Fussy Librarian. The Hell Of Osirak is under the thriller section for 99 cents and from the email it seems that there is only one other book being featured.
Will there be a rush of sales? Fingers crossed!
The first mistake I’ve made was not to include my url of my book on my first post. Thank you to my FB friend who pointed this out to me!
I’ll keep you updated, there’s my short url. (This is important when you are posting).

Three weeks ago I was sitting in my lounge, bemoaning the lack of sales for my book The Hell Of Osirak.
Naively I thought my book would take off and I would be catapulted into the realm of the elite A list writers. Of course, it didn’t! Why would it?
Then it dawned on me! If I don’t go into action and promote it, who will?
Nobody - that was the short answer.
So I did it now!
I put a marketing campaign together, booked ads, revamped my website and organised promotion.
Finally, I put The Hell Of Osirak on sale for the bargain price of 99 cents on Amazon.
Will I be successful?
Follow my journey to see if I can do it!!
